27 years old guy from Taytay, Philippines and I'm working as a Rails Developer from home .
Love at first sight with Ruby on Rails
I took a Programming course at AMA Computer Learning center in my neighborhood but was not able to finish studying due to financial reasons. After that I decided to work in the BPO industry. But even then I still have an urge to learn programming by myself and took a liking with web development in particular.
When I'm off at work I spent a lot of time learning HTML, CSS and JQuery. There are many programming languages and frameworks out there and it is difficult to find what is best or what is right for me. That's when I encountered Ruby on Rails, a web framework that focuses on developer's productivity and happiness as quoted by rubyonrails.org:
Learning to build a modern web application is daunting. Ruby on Rails makes it much easier and more fun. It includes everything you need to build fantastic applications, and you can learn it with the support of our large, friendly community.
Exploring Web Development
During the time before I left the BPO industry I explored different aspects of creating a website. I frequently hang out at CSS-Tricks and Codepen to get some ideas and inspiration for what I love doing.
See my workFaced with different problems working as a Rails developer, I learned solving different problems using different programming languages and tools and I believe it is the essence of becoming a Full stack developer.
Due to non-disclosures with other companies I can only share pieces from development or permitted works. I will update this section as soon I get more work done. Might as well include my personal ones in the future.
I usually host my projects publicly on Github unless a client wants to make it private or host the source code using their own platform of choice like Bitbucket .
Let's discuss some of your great ideas and start building together.
